It's absolutely still an overall better value - especially since it's been updated to a 6c/12t cpu, but it's not even close to what you're pretending it is. And with a slower SSD (iirc), smaller (and still not as good) trackpad, and no thunderbolt 3.

But let's not start spreading compete bullshit. The $1500 model has a 1080p display, it's $1900 for a high res display - that is still worse in terms of color support.

The fact that Apple is slow to update (and that there has been no 4c/8t 13" or 6c/12t 15" models) is absolutely a problem and is a great reason to not recommend them at the moment. They don't hate it if they're in a pro media editing workflow. Also, usb-c only is a terrible idea when the industry hasn't caught up with the production of usb-c peripherals and such, apple just wanted to sell dongles and you know it. Tech enthusiasts have a real reason to hate this over-glorified facebook machine that has no real business doing pro work. The critical thinking comes in when they charge 2400 usd for a lowly 555 pro and a cpu that throttles if you don't perform a repaste and undervolt, meanwhile the xps 9570 is featuring a 1050 ti and 8750h and comparable build quality for a mere 1500 usd. People are just blindly hating on apple instead of using critical thinking to see that there actually isn't a problem. If you need stuff like a mouse, you can get one with a removable cable and just swap the type A cable to a type C one. No need for dongles except maybe at home for much more IO, as you would with any other laptop (except one of those ugly thick gaming 10kg monstrosities). Exactly, and 4 ports + headphone jack is more than enough for a mobile device.
